State Law of Louisiana does not require a specific form regarding a power of attorney but it is customary to execute a power of attorney before a Notary and two witnesses. The applicable law is Louisiana Civil Code Articles 2985-3032.

By a recently enacted law, any interested person may bring a lawsuit against the agent seeking an accounting or his removal.

A German power of attorney – if duly certified in accordance with German law – would be recognized in Louisiana
